Editor Laura Harvey poked her head out of the pile of submissions that are rolling in for the upcoming urban legends anthology, Legendary, to give us an update…

I’m frolicking through the slush and discovering wonderful re-tellings of some old favorites, including Bloody Mary, the Vanishing Hitchhiker, and the Grey Man. To date, most submissions have been American based, but I’d love to find legends from farther afield in my inbox: the slit-mouthed woman from Japan, Don Simeon Bernardo’s tomb from the Phillipines, or Mae Nak Phra Khanong from Thailand. American tales I’d love to see include the Hook Man or something involving a Ouiji Board. I’m also partial to small, local legends of particular places, like the Lions of Niagara Falls. So find a legend that sparks your imagination, weave in some hot romance, and send it my way!

Legendary submission are open until July 31. Find more details here.
