Hello, Pen-and-Kink-erites! (Pen-and-Kink-ites? Pen-and-Kink-ians?) Ariel here. This is my yay-for-Ravenous<\/em>-release post, and of course, it would be over a week late.<\/p>\n A girl whom I used to babysit for decided release week was the perfect time to get married (so selfish, am I right?), so I was on the road that day. In fact, last week, I was on the road for a total of four days\u2014two each way\u2014with my four-and-a-half-month-old twins and three-year-old. Because I am a glutton for punishment, apparently. But it actually wasn\u2019t as bad as it sounds, and everything was beautiful and the food was delicious and it was all lovely.<\/p>\n But enough about me and more about Ravenous<\/em>! I\u2019m so excited it\u2019s finally available for you to buy<\/a>. If you like sexy vampires\u2014and, I mean, of course you do because who doesn\u2019t?\u2014I highly recommend it. There are some hot and some super romantic stories in there (sometimes both in one).<\/p>\n One of the reasons I\u2019m so excited about it is because it\u2019s my first official solo editing job. It was an interesting challenge, and I got to flex my non-writing muscles for a big project. The most difficult aspect was finding the stories I wanted to include. I can say definitively that \u201cit\u2019s a perfectly good story, but it\u2019s not right for us\u201d is a completely valid editorial reaction.<\/p>\n And then, during the editing part of the anthology, each story had its own needs. One needed developmental edits, one needed copy edits, one didn\u2019t need anything except a nitpicking comma being moved hither and yon, and several were in between. I enjoyed analyzing and approaching each one, deciding what the unique needs were. And the authors were all easy to work with, for which I was grateful.<\/p>\n In short, I liked being an editor, and I\u2019d love to do it again. (Not that I\u2019m hinting or anything.)<\/p>\n I\u2019m also very pleased we have several reviews already\u2014go check \u2018em out<\/a> if you\u2019re on the fence about buying it\u2014for which I can thank P&K. All in all, a great experience.
